There is soooo much I could say about these Santa pictures! This is my second year offering these sessions and lets just say that last year i had THIRTY… this year, i had NINETY!! Seventy of the sessions were filled up in less than 48 hours back in September and i had a 20 family deep waiting list that I just couldn’t say NO to… so… Santa stayed over another day and we got everyone in!!!

I absolutely love my time with these families. More than 3/4 of them are families that are current clients and I LOVE that i get the privileged of seeing these sweet kids LIGHT UP when they come into the room for their visit with Santa. This isn’t just a “mall visit” Santa. Each kid gets their own picture with Santa and special time to talk with him! Then siblings can have pictures with him and even some moms and dads jump in there!

Santa and Mrs. Claus are amazing and love children so much! They take the time to call the children by name and chat about things that are personal to each of them! Even with screaming babies, they take the time to make sure we at least get a GOOD shot, or a FUNNY shot without scarring them for life!

There are so many people to thank when it comes to this event! First of all… THANKS to Kay and the Historical Society of Griffin for allowing me to use their space at the Bailey Tebault House! Thanks to the Historical Society board and Utility Club members who helped decorate the BT house and especially Suni and Anna who helped my “Cupcakes with Mrs. Claus” vision come to reality AND for helping out with registration at the last minute! Thanks to Coleigh for helping out all day Sunday and a few of the Junior Guild members for helping out with crafts! My two good friends Nicole Stephens and Charlotte Kierbow did a great job helping with the registration and keeping Mrs. Claus stocked with Cupcakes and Candy Canes! Kate O’Quinn from Creative Provisions (on facebook) did a great job on the awesome cupcakes! Thanks to my sweet husband for not only being super dad THAT weekend but this whole fall/Christmas season (keeping my children fed and happy).

Santa and Mrs. Claus…. thanks so much for loving these kids and taking the time out of your busy schedule to make this a very special time for all of them (even the screamers). My own children talk about you all of the time and several other kids i know were amazed that you not only knew their name, but also knew which “elf on the shelf” you sent them!

Thanks to my 90 families (old and new clients) that came out for this special event! 5 of you traveled over 3 hours, 20 of you traveled over 1.5 hours, 15 of you traveled over 45 minutes…. and i appreciate your time and commitment to making a special memory for your children!

• How much?  Minis are $125 and only available on the dates/locations listed!  There will be an extra fee per session for the use of Meadowlark Gardens.  Cash, check, credit (via paypal) accepted.
• What do you get?  You will get a 25 minute session with me at the location of your choice.  Your images will be edited and given to you in full resolution files on CD within 2 weeks of your session.
• How many people?  You can have up to 4 members of the same immediate family.  If you would like to add more siblings, cousins, or grandparents, you are encouraged to book a FULL session or two minis back-to-back.  Minis are NOT  recommended for infants under six months.
• What does it not  include?  Bunnies and sheep

Kay and I started brainstorming pretty early this year, nailed down Santa and the Mrs… put it out there… and we had ourselves an EVENT. An event with a waiting list and people asking for “in” hours before it happened.

All but three of these families are currently my clients… and I am telling you, after most of my shoots, I feel like I am part of that family. I watch the kids grow and stay in touch through facebook and several of my clients have become dear friends. So to have this chance to see their children walk into a room with the kindest, warmest, most REAL Santa was awesome. Some ran right into his arms and just hugged him… and he hugged right back. Lots of the kids left telling Santa that they loved him and he gave kisses and told them he loved them right back. Of course we had our share of screamers, but it all truly warms your heart. To have that experience with my clients (and new clients)… really was special. Moms and Dads… thanks so much for trusting me (for the first time) to give your kids a memorable experience… and not just a picture!

While I do absolutely love the awe and wonder of Santa and sometimes wish i could visit the toy shoppe at the North Pole, most of you know that I truly believe with all my heart the reason we celebrate Christmas. The awe and wonder of Jesus Christ has such a resonating place in my heart that I hold close on a daily basis. I hope that my children and the people that i have met (and will meet) will grow to know the depth and truth that Christmas brings to our lives. I don’t think I would have ever dreamed that I would be doing what I am now… but looking back on my life, I am shown time and time again the the Lord has bigger and better plans for me and my family that I could have ever dreamed. The neat part is looking at the path He has taken me on and how purposefully He has placed people and events in my life. My hope is that i can make an impact on the lives of the people that surround me… whether it is capturing a memory forever in picture, listening to struggles, laughing at the funny things our kids do, crying with you as you are grieving the loss of a parent… while trying to capture your last moments, remembering the children you cannot hold right now, snapping a few photos of your kids when the get their braces off, putting the camera down and enjoying the delight in your ONE year old’s eyes as they demolish a cake… whatever it is… thanks for letting me IN to share those moments… i have loved them all!

This talented songwriter/singer/musician/beautiful girl grew up at the church I used to work at. I got to watch her grow up (along with a whole church family/extended family) and become this amazing girl with amazing talent. She just finished her sophomore year at UGA and has been working on this album for what feels like a LONG time… i think the anticipation of its release just had everyone that much MORE excited about getting their hands on one!

Emily, I was amazed last week! Amazed to hear you sing, and amazed at the amount of people (who love you) that came under one roof for this pretty major event in your life! Almost every important person in your life was there that night… and if they weren’t… i am pretty sure they probably called/wrote/checked in and were thinking about you! I am honored to be able to say that I once was one of your back up singers!!! And will always be one of your biggest fans!
